Driver drowns while searching for shampoo

A 35-year-old driver drowned in the Balingcaguing River in Mabini after attempting to retrieve a bottle of shampoo that his friends had thrown into the water for fun.

The victim, a resident of Barangay Victoria in Alaminos City, was enjoying a day out with friends when the incident occurred. Several of his companions tried but failed to rescue and retrieve his body. The local police, Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) launched a search and rescue operation to locate the victim’s body as of writing.

Dad dead in Malasiqui road mishap

IN Malasiqui, a man was killed and two others were injured when a tricycle carrying a family collided with a dump truck and a mixer truck.

According to Malasiqui chief of police P/Lt.Col Junmar Gonzales, the kulong kulong carrying a couple and their child was headed to the town of Bayambang when it was rear-ended by a dump truck that tried to overtake a tricycle n Barangay San Julian. The impact caused the tricycle to veer into the opposite lane where it collided with an incoming mixer truck.

Minor killed in Calasiao motorcycle collision

A 17-year-old female lost her life when she was struck by a motorcycle in the middle of a road in Calasiao, where she was having an argument with her 19-year-old boyfriend.

According to police investigations, the boyfriend tried to step away from the argument and the victim attempted to move back to the side of the road, she failed to notice an oncoming motorcycle driven by Christian John Sayson Morante, a 20-year-old resident of Manzon, San Carlos City. The collision caused Morante to lose control of his motorcycle, which subsequently crashed into another motorcycle ridden by 22-year-old Karl Nolan Muñoz Salon from San Carlos City. The young woman sustained severe head injuries and was rushed to the hospital, where she was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians.

Barangay tanod nabbed in drug ops

AUTHORITIES apprehended a barangay tanod believed to be involved in the illegal drug trade in Basista town and seized P20,400 worth of suspected shabu.

The suspect, identified by the alias “Bitoy,” is a 47-year-old barangay tanod and resident of Basista was arrested initially with a warrant issued against him for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. The operation was led by the Basista Municipal Police Station, in cooperation with the 105th Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 1 (RMFB1).

2 druggies nabbed, 6 grams of shabu, firearm seized

TWO men were arrested in Villasis after authorities confiscated six grams of suspected shabu and a firearm.  The Villasis Municipal Police Station received a call from Princess Pasoquin Garce, a 36-year-old massage therapist residing in Rosales, who reported that one of their male customers was carrying a short firearm.

The suspects have been identified as a 32-year-old bachelor and resident of Villasis, and a 31-year-old bachelor working as a vegetable seller, residing in Barangay San Vicente, Urdaneta City.

LPG dealer nabbed in Asingan drug ops

AN LPG dealer was arrested after police discovered illegal drugs and firearms during a search of his home in Asingan.

Authorities executed a search warrant at the residence of the suspect, known by the alias “Toklat,” a resident of Barangay Sobol.  During the search, police recovered 13 .45 caliber bullets, one 5.56 caliber bullet, a magazine for the .45 caliber firearm, and eight packets of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P5,440.

Man nabbed for stabbing

A 23-year-old man is now in police custody following a stabbing incident involving another individual in the town of Bolinao.

The suspect, a coconut dealer, was unloading coconuts from his truck while holding a bolo knife when he was approached by the 28-year-old victim, who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. An argument ensued between the two, which escalated to the point where the suspect attacked the victim with the weapon. As a result, the victim sustained stab wounds to his neck and back. He was promptly rushed to a medical facility for treatment, while the suspect was apprehended and is currently in jail.

3 nabbed for burglary

THREE persons were apprehended by police in San Nicolas after a failed attempt to rob a local residence.

The suspects made off with two iPhones, another mobile phone, a smartwatch, and a jar of chocolate spread, but law enforcers quickly responded to the Gulla family’s report and caught the thieves who were still in possession of the stolen goods.  The suspects were identified as Jericho Camisola Molines, 22, a resident of Lungao, and two minors.

Welder nabbed for breaking in barangay kap’s house

A 27-year-old welder was arrested and will face charges after he was caught breaking into the home of the barangay captain of Buenlag, Calasiao.

The barangay captain himself spotted the suspect, known as alias Bogs, who also resides in the same barangay. Authorities recovered a stolen iPad worth P50,000 pesos and an electric fan from the suspect.
