High-value drug suspect nabbed in Rosales

P748,000 WORTH OF SHABU SEIZED

A joint operation conducted by multiple law enforcement agencies on February 21, 2025, in Barangay Station District, Rosales resulted in the arrest of a high-value individual (HVI) and the seizure of approximately 110 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of P748,000.

The arrested suspect, Violeta Duran, 58, from Tayug, was residing in a rented apartment in Barangay Station District, at the time of her arrest. She was classified as a High-Value Individual (HVI) due to her involvement in the illegal drug trade.

The successful operation was a collaborative effort involving the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 1 (as the lead unit, along with the Regional Intelligence Division PRO1, Regional Intelligence Unit 1, Police Drug Enforcement Group Special Operations Unit 1, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Pangasinan, Pangasinan Provincial Intelligence Unit, Pangasinan Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, and Rosales Municipal Police Station. The operation was conducted in coordination with PDEA Regional Office 1.

During the operation, authorities confiscated two knot-tied plastics and one heat-sealed plastic sachet containing  110 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of P748,000.00; several peso bills, one cellphone and one shoulder bag where the sachets were hidden.

The inventory and marking of the seized evidence were conducted on-site, in the presence of the suspect and witnesses, adhering to legal procedures. Duran will face charges related to the possession and sale of illegal drugs. (Eva Visperas)
