THREE siblings lost their lives in a fire that engulfed their home in Barangay Magallanes, Tayug town on Tuesday morning, February 25.

An interview with BFP Tayug Acting Fire Marshall FInsp. Nerissa Bruan confirmed the fatalities.

According to preliminary assessments, Bruan said the smoke from the fire was overwhelming, leaving the children, Jeniel, 6; James, 4, and Jenila, 3 years old trapped inside

The kids’ father left them to charge a phone with a neighbor but locked the house when he left the kids, who were trapped when the fire broke out.

Victims’ bodies were recovered by responding firemen and were rushed to the nearby Rural Health Unit (RHU), but were declared dead due to suffocation.

BFP is now probing the cause of the fire.

Meanwhile, the family of the deceased children has appealed for privacy and respect as they mourn, requesting an end to the circulation of images and videos of the incident on social media. (Ahikam Pasion)
