Fish vendor nabbed for drug-dealing
A 29-year-old fish vendor was arrested in a joint anti-illegal drug operation on January 30 in Barangay Baligayan, San Quintin, and 50 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of P340,000, was seized by law enforcement agents.
Clarissa Lugtu, a resident of Roosevelt Park Village, Barangay San Pablo, Dinalupihan, Bataan, was arrested by combined forces of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, Pangasinan Provincial Police Office (PPO) , Provincial Intelligence Unit, and the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit , in coordination with the San Quintin Municipal Police Station and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
The suspect was found to have a standing warrant for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act (RA 9165) and is set to be presented to the court in Olongapo City for further proceedings.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of PCol Rollyfer Capoquian, provincial director of Pangasinan PPO, and was part of ongoing efforts to crack down on illegal drug trade in the region. (Eva Visperas)
