Man dies from firecracker explosion
A 44-year-old man died after a firecracker he lighted in front of his residence during the New Year’s revelry exploded and hit his head.
The victim, identified as Allan Ballesteros, was with his partner at their home on Paras St., Barangay Bonuan Gueset, Dagupan City when the incident occurred at around 12:10 a.m. on January 1, 2025.
According to initial reports, Ballesteros was lighting the device when it unexpectedly detonated, striking him in the head. His partner immediately sought help, and the victim was rushed to the Region 1 Medical Center for emergency treatment.
Ballesteros was declared dead by attending physicians shortly after his arrival at the hospital. (Eva Visperas)
