Binmaley VM Rosario cries foul over smear campaign

BINMALEY Vice Mayor Simplicio “Sammy” Rosario, who is running for mayor against re-electionist Mayor Pedro “Pete” Merrera in the May elections, vehemently denied various allegations leveled against him, describing the smear campaign as politically motivated.

Among the rumors circulating is that he would evict residents living near the river once he is elected mayor anew.

He belied the rumor and assured instead that his priority would always be local residents without homes or land, especially those interested in relocating to the housing project he completed in Barangay Papageyan.

He also clarified that the earlier solar installations at the town plaza and in several barangays were funded by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and not by the municipality’s budget after he expressed disappointment over the P70-million local fund for the construction of other solar projects, stating that these funds could have been utilized for other initiatives more beneficial to Binmaley.

He expressed hope that the residents would discern the truth and continue to support him in his campaign to “make Binmaley great again.” (Ahikam Pasion)
