Mechanic dies in Urdaneta motorcycle accident

A 31-year-old mechanic was unable to celebrate Christmas after a tragic vehicular accident in Urdaneta City.

The victim, Noel Garcia Dana, was riding a motorcycle along Manila North Road with his 23-year-old backrider, Julius Garcia Dana, a construction worker, when a minibus driven by 71-year-old Efren Rabara Antonio from Barangay Carmen West, Rosales, made a sudden turn towards a gas station in Barangay Nancayasan.

According to police investigations, the mini bus did not signal before making the turn. Noel attempted to brake and avoid the bus, but unfortunately lost control of the motorcycle, which then collided with the right wheel of the mini bus, causing both riders to sustain severe injuries.

They were rushed to the hospital, but Noel did not survive. The mini bus driver, who was unharmed, has been charged with Reckless Imprudence Resulting in Homicide, Serious Physical Injury, and Damage to Property due to the incident.

Fire claims life of elderly woman in Mangatarem

A fire in the town of Mangatarem resulted in the death of an elderly woman who was unable to escape as the incident occurred early on December 24, while she was sleeping in her makeshift home.

According to a report made to the police by the victim’s daughter, Estela Labayo Corpuz, a 56-year-old manicure artist and resident of Barangay CBN, her mother Rosita Castro Valdez had a disability that affected her mobility and impaired vision in one eye.

Neighbors reported that Samuel Benitez Quisel, a 49-year-old resident, was awakened by the noise outside and discovered the house already engulfed in flames.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) determined that the fire was ignited by a discarded cigarette and a match.

Motorcycle crash kills 1 in Malasiqui

IN Malasiqui, a young man lost his life after the motorcycle he was riding crashed into an electric post.

The victim was identified as 28-year-old Jomar Velasquez Doctolero, a resident of Barangay Polong in Malasiqui.

According to police investigations, Doctolero was out drinking in Barangay Apaya when he took the motorcycle belonging to local resident Artemio Fabros without permission.

As he made his way to the accident site, Doctolero reportedly lost control of the motorcycle, veered off course, crashed into a concrete electric post, and fell into a nearby drainage ditch.

Garbage collector drowns in Dagupan creek

A garbage collector drowned after falling from a creek screen in Dagupan City. The incident occurred in Barangay II & III, where the victim, identified as 60-year-old Narciso Baswil Alipio, was a resident.

The drowning took place around 1 a.m. when Alipio was resting on top of the creek’s screen. His neighbor, 35-year-old fellow garbage collector Junjun Garcia Sierra, heard the victim fall and immediately sought help.

The rescue team recovered Alipio’s body about an hour later. He was rushed to a local hospital but was declared dead on arrival. Authorities later confirmed that the victim had been drinking prior to the incident.

Computer shop owner injured in stabbing incident

A computer shop owner was injured after being attacked by a local resident in Dagupan City.

The incident occurred in Sitio Aliguas, Arellano, Pantal, where the victim was identified as Jared Zamora Saplan, a 31-year-old resident of the area. The suspect, 44-year-old Loreto Alicna Carolino, is a tricycle driver who also resides in the same barangay.

Prior to the stabbing, the victim and suspect had a heated argument that escalated. During the confrontation, Carolino took out a knife and struck Saplan in the head. Emergency medical services arrived promptly, and the victim was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Authorities are currently searching for the suspect, who fled the scene immediately after the attack. The investigation is ongoing, and police are urging anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Carolino to come forward.

Elder brother fatally stabs ading during disagreement

A drinking session between two brothers took a deadly turn in Dasol when a dispute erupted, resulting in one sibling being fatally stabbed.

According to police investigations, the incident occurred at a relative’s home where the brothers, both senior citizens, were drinking together. They were identified as Rodolfo Paponcio Bustamante, 60 years old, and his older brother, Romeo Paponcio Bustamante, 66 years old, both residents of Barangay Poblacion, Dasol.

For reasons yet to be determined, Rodolfo reportedly grabbed a digging bar and suddenly smashed the slatted window of Romeo’s home. In response, Romeo took the digging bar away from Rodolfo and, in a shocking turn of events, stabbed him with it.

Rodolfo sustained a severe injury and was pronounced dead on arrival in the hospital.

Authorities have arrested Romeo and have filed charges against him in connection with the incident.

Man dies in road mishap after Christmas Party

A 30-year-old man, identified as Christian Untalan Ventura, a Credit Investigator from Sitio Tabuyoc in Barangay Cayambanan, lost his life in a motorcycle accident in Urdaneta City as he was returning home from a Christmas party.

According to his companion, King Parazo Acunia, the group had drinks during the celebration. As they traveled through the northern part of Barangay Anonas, Ventura accelerated his motorcycle, crashing into a metal barrier.

Reports indicate that Ventura was not properly wearing his helmet at the time of the crash, which resulted in severe head injuries. He was rushed to the hospital, but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
