FOR the second year in a row, the town of Sta. Barbara was recognized as a ‘Highly Functional’ local government unit in the fight against illegal drugs during the 2024 Regional Peace and Order Council and Anti-Drug Abuse Council Performance Award held November 18 at the La Union Convention Center in San Fernando City.

Mayor Carlito Zaplan, who received the award along with Municipal Government Operations Officer Roger Damian, said the citation is only a testament to the town’s consistent and effective drug campaign but also a triumph for every Sta. Barbara residents whose unity and unwavering support for meaningful projects, were key to such recognition. (Jamella Samano/Intern)
