Woman stabbed to death by estranged husband

A woman was killed after she was stabbed by her estranged husband last week in Barangay Pasibe East, Urbiztondo.

P/Major Rommel Sembrano, chief of the Urbiztondo police, reported that the suspect, 58-year-old Rogelio Frias Guarez, saw his 47-year-old wife, Janet Tamayo Guarez, talking to another man while she was drying rice. This prompted him to attack her with multiple stab wounds.

The victim was declared dead on arrival at the hospital. The police apprehended the suspect as he was attempting to flee towards the town of Basista, where the weapon used in the attack was also recovered. According to authorities, the couple was separated for several months prior to the incident, and jealousy is believed to be the motive for the crime.

1 dead, 2 injured in San Jacinto accident

A man died and two others sustained injuries when their vehicle plunged into an irrigation canal in San Jacinto.

Twenty two-year-old Yvander Raros Cavanit, a resident of Bonuan Gueset, was driving along the Provincial Road in Barangay Lobong with relatives Elmer Johnson Cavanit, 51, and Aileen Domingues Cavanit, both residents of Parañaque City, when their vehicle hit a pile of sand and rocks on the side of a bridge. The driver lost control and the vehicle fell into the irrigation canal.

Emergency services rushed the three individuals to a local hospital, where Elmer was declared dead on arrival, while Yvander and Aileen are currently receiving medical treatment.

Tricycle driver found dead in Dagupan City

A tricycle driver was discovered lifeless inside his vehicle in Dagupan City. He was identified as Loreto Cendaña Cervas, 66, a resident of Barangay IV in the city.

Gerald Cabasog De Vera, 32, of Barangay Bisal, Manaoag contacted the police after noticing a tricycle parked near a gasoline station with a person slumped inside, and was unresponsive when he approached to check. Emergency responders transported Cervas to the hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding Cervas’ death, but Marilou Cervas Labasbas, a factory worker and daughter of the deceased, said that her father had been suffering from hypertension.

Poultry worker killed in Aguilar shooting incident

LOCAL authorities in Aguilar are conducting an investigation into the shooting incident that resulted in the death of a poultry farm worker at the CF North Block Poultry Farm in Barangay Poblacion.

The victim, a 29-year-old male worker at the farm and resident of the area, was loading chickens onto a truck alongside five other coworkers when they suddenly heard gunfire. They then saw the victim fall and bleeding.

The shooter remains unidentified, and despite efforts to rush the victim to a medical facility, he was declared dead on arrival by medical personnel.

Body of man found in canal in San Carlos City

AUTHORITIES discovered the lifeless body of a man in a canal in Barangay Salinap, San Carlos City, with the death with no clues of foul play so possibly from heavy intoxication.

The victim, a 65-year-old resident of the area, was reported to have left home on his bicycle to join friends for drinks.  According to his son, his father did not return home, and was only found later that day dead in the canal with his bicycle nearby.
