P/COLONEL Rollyfer Capoquian, Pangasinan’s newly-appointed police director, is focusing on a thrust anchored on PNP (Pulis ng Pangasinan) Magaling at Maasahan, which includes closer cooperation with communities and increased police visibility.

Succeeding P/Col. Jeff Fanged, who held the post for two years and is currently assigned to Camp Crame, Capoquian, the new provincial police chief said he will prioritize order and discipline, impartial policing, and enhanced crime prevention strategies throughout the province.

During the turnover ceremony on October 1, Capoquian said his holistic approach to law enforcement aims to foster a peaceful and secure environment where police and the community work together to ensure public safety. This aligns with the overarching goals of the Philippine National Police.

Since his goal is to increase police visibility and improve crime prevention and resolution. Capoquian said he will enhance police deployment, particularly at night, ensuring that police vehicles are visible with their lights activated, as he believes it will enhance their presence and effectiveness on the streets.

Looking ahead, Capoquian recognizes the upcoming elections as a significant challenge for law enforcement in Pangasinan.

Before his current role, he served at Binondo Station 11 in the Manila Police District, spent a year as a provincial investigator in Pangasinan, and held the position of police chief in the cities of Urdaneta and San Carlos. (Eva Visperas)
