P4.97-M SHABU SEIZED

JOINT operatives from the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested a high-value individual (HVI) in Barangay Pagal, San Carlos City, and seized nearly P5 million worth of shabu on August 26.

Suspect Aga Rangaig, 41, was arrested at his residence based on a search warrant issued by a Dagupan City court.

During the raid, law enforcement officers confiscated approximately 731 grams of the illegal substance with an estimated market value of P4.97 million along with a Norinco caliber .45 pistol without a serial number loaded with six live rounds, and P93,500 in drug proceeds.

The seized drugs and firearms were brought to the PNP City Forensic Unit in Urdaneta City for drug testing, laboratory, and ballistic examinations. The suspect is under police custody while cases are being prepared for filing. (Eva Visperas)
