Live-in partners arrested in buy-bust operation, 2 others nabbed

A live-in couple and their two visitors were arrested in Barangay Pogo Grande, Dagupan City in a joint anti-illegal drugs operation led by the Dagupan City Police.

The couple, identified as Jeffrey Salcedo Inocencio, 43, and Janine Joy Ruiz Raga, 31, and their visitors, Kevine Randell Bautista Rodriguez, a resident of Malta Village, Barangay Malued, and Wenchester Vilarde Ugali, 36, of Barangay Babasit, Manaoag, were apprehended in the anti-drug operations in the couple’s house  that also serves as a one-stop shop for shabu, where customers may opt to do pot session.

Authorities confiscated three packets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 5.5 grams with a street value of P37,400 and other drug paraphernalia were seized from the residence. Charges are being prepared against the four.

Elder bother chased and shot by younger brother

A 39-year-old man in San Manuel town was chased and shot by his younger brother, reportedly due to a previous altercation.

Initial investigation of the San Manuel Police showed the victim, Isagani Sumajit, a construction worker, was riding his motorcycle along Sittio Bantog, Barangay San Juan, on his way home when he was attacked and shot  by his younger brother, Edilberto.

Fortunately, Isagani managed to dodge the  bullet then fled on foot. Edilberto continued to chase him but not finding Isagani who managed to hide, Edilberto ran away. The San Manuel Police is currently conducting a hot pursuit operation  on Edilberto.

Drinking spree between two men ends in stabbing

A drinking session between two men on Erfe Street, Barangay Poblacion, San Fabian, turned awry when the happy bonding ended in a stabbing incident.

According to the San Fabian Police, the victim, Eduard  Almeron, 29, a resident in the area, was drinking with the suspect, Maynard Janiola, 23, a resident of Barangay Nibaliw Magliba when an argument broke out between the two. The altercation escalated that led to Janiola stabbing Almeron on the chest.

The victim was rushed to the hospital and received medical treatment. Meanwhile, suspect is currently in the custody of the San Fabian Police for proper disposition, and the  12-“ kitchen knife used in the stabbing, was recovered.

Woman threatened after refusing to lend cigarettes in sari-sari store

A 33-year-old store owner in Barangay Buenlag 2nd, Bayambang, Remedios Angwas, feared for her life after her neighbor threatened her for refusing to sell cigarettes on a “pay later” basis.

According to the police investigation, the victim was in her store with her children when the intoxicated suspect arrived and asked for cigarettes on credit basis. When Angwas refused, Ambat became enraged, claiming that she owed him a debt of gratitude and that the land on which her house stood on belonged to him. This led to a heated argument, during which Ambat threw stones and kicked the store’s frontage.

Ambat briefly left but returned with a cleaver knife, entered Angwas’ yard and threatened to kill her. He reportedly told her she was lucky someone saw him, or he would have killed her. Authorities confiscated the cleaver knife from the suspect, 42-year-old mechanic Rolando Junio Ambat, who is now facing charges.

Fruit vendor couple killed in SUV collision

A couple who were fruit vendors lost their lives in a collision with an SUV in Sta. Barbara.

Salvador Marzan Martinez Sr., 57, was driving  a mobile cart in Barangay Maronong, Sta. Barbara, with his wife, Barbara Martinez, 58, both residents of Barangay Patayak, when an SUV suddenly veered into their lane and hit them.

The SUV was driven by 21-year-old William Paris Ormilla, who did not have a driver’s license. He was accompanied by three friends. The couple did not survive the impact from the incident. The SUV driver was taken into police custody for investigation.
