Urdaneta LGU employee shot dead, another wounded
AN employee of the local government of Urdaneta City was shot dead while his companion was wounded when unidentified suspects shot them morning of June 26 in front of a house in Zone II, Barangay Dilan-Paurido in the city.
Dead was Bernardino Bernardo, 60, while his companion Maria Christina Parayno, 58, also an employee of Urdaneta-LGU, was brought to a hospital and reported to be already in a stable condition.
The two victims left their house riding a motorcycle going south direction when they were flagged down by four suspects who alighted from a black Mitsubishi Montero that came from north direction.
The police said the suspects declared hold-up, then took the victims’ belongings and shot the victims. They fled towards Asingan town.
Bernardo sustained gunshot wounds on his left chest, left arm, and right buttock while Parayno was hit on her right hand. They were brought to Urdaneta District Hospital but Bernardo was declared dead on arrival. (Eva Visperas)
