Woman shot dead in San Carlos City

A 62-year-old female farmworker was fatally shot by a still unidentified assailant in San Carlos City. Elisa Vinluan Ragas, a resident of Purok 5, Barangay Doyong, was walking home when the assailant suddenly fired at her using a .45 caliber pistol. The victim sustained gunshot wounds in various parts of her body.

She was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival. The city police is investigating the motive behind the murder.

Teenager drowns in Rosales creek

A 14-year-old boy drowned in a creek in Rosales town. According to police investigations, Matthew Angeles Ledesma, Grade 8 student and resident of Barangay Balincanaway, went to Totonoguen Creek in Barangay Bakit Bakit with friends to swim.

However, he drifted to the middle of the creek where he drowned. Rescuers responded to the emergency and transported him to the hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival by the medical staff.

Man’s body found floating in Dagupan river

WHILE at the Dagupan Transport Terminal on New De Venecia Highway, Barangay Lucao, Dagupan, Allen Esmejalda of Barangay Bonuan Boquig spotted a body floating in the Calmay-Talaib River in Barangay Lucao.

He immediately called the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), which in turn sought assistance from the PNP Dagupan. The authorities retrieved the body, which was later identified as Alex Dizon Ticse, also known as IDOL, a resident of Sitio Pantal Norte, Barangay Pantal, Dagupan City.

Fatal motorcycle collision kills 21 years old

A 21-year-old man died, while two women were injured following a collision between two motorcycles in Sison town. Police investigations revealed that Vincent Gucutan Bejar, a 21-year-old resident of Purok 7 Tabtabungao, Rosario, La Union, was driving in Bulaoen East with 18-year-old Aira Mangatot Velasquez of Poblacion East, Rosario, La Union, and 39-year-old Noime Viernes Penson of Bulaoen East as passengers.

The accident occurred on a curved road where the motorcycles collided. All parties sustained injuries in various parts of their bodies. Bejar was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival. He tested positive in an alcoholic breath test, according to the examination.

Man hurt  in 2 collisions

IN Burgos town, a man was injured when the car he was driving collided with an oncoming van.

Benedict Rubino Abungan, a 26-year-old from Brgy. Banog Sur, Bani, was traversing the National Road of Brgy. Don Matias when he did a counterflow on the lane of a Hi Ace Van driven by 33-year-old Jonathan Quipid Ballon of Brgy. Tambac, Dasol town who had one passenger.

Due to the impact of the collision, the car spun and subsequently hit an SUV driven by 45-year-old Arnold Ansoc Semil, a resident of Matikyab, Gueset, Bugallon. Ballon sustained injuries from the incident.

Farmer electrocuted while painting roof

A 49-year-old farmer in San Carlos City died after he was electrocuted. Maritess Rosario Perez, resident of Sitio Manandag, Barangay Bega, reported to the police that her nephew, Michael Rosario Perez, 36 years old, also a resident in the area, was electrocuted while painting the roof of their house when he accidentally touched a live electrical wire.

He was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Man found dead in a canal

THE body of a man was discovered in a canal in Rosales. The PNP received a call from Barangay Chairman Marc Lopez, 36 years old, resident of Barangay Mancup, who reported seeing a man lying in the canal road. Upon police investigation, it was found that the man was often seen walking alone in the area, begging and sleeping on the vacant lot of an abandoned gas station.

The victim was taken to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival. The PNP found no foul play in his death. The victim was described as approximately 5’7” tall, brown-skinned, aged between 45-50, wearing a black t-shirt and red shorts.

Five-year-old drowns in a resort

IN a heartbreaking incident, a five-year-old child drowned while swimming at a resort pool in the town of Calasiao. Police responded to a drowning incident at a resort in Barangay Nagsaing, Calasiao, where the victim was identified as Christian Sapiera Agsalud, a resident of Barangay Lumbang, Calasiao.

Investigations revealed that the victim went to the resort with his father, Benjo Laforteza Agsalud, 43 years old, who later started drinking with friends. A concerned citizen noticed the victim submerged in the pool. The child was immediately retrieved and attempts were made to revive him before he was rushed to the hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival by the doctor.

Man struck by lightning in Bolinao, dies

A 22-year-old man died after he was struck by lightning in the town of Bolinao. Roland Midalina had stepped out of his house to buy cigarettes in a nearby store when a sudden downpour accompanied by thunder and lightning began as he walked along the edge of a field in Barangay Sampaloc.

A lightning suddenly stuck him. Although he was rushed to the hospital, he was declared dead on arrival. It was learned that the victim, who was a resident of Sual, was visiting his nephew at the time of the incident.

Bus conductor fatally stabbed

A bus conductor was declared dead on arrival at a medical facility In Urdanetra City after a colleague with whom he had a dispute in Urdaneta City, stabbed him. The incident occurred at a gas station in Barangay San Vicente, after the victim, Ronnie Domingo Salvador, 33 years old, a resident of Purok 7, Barangay Rizal, Santiago City, Isabela, had been drinking at a restobar in Barangay Poblacion.

According to a witness, the victim had agreed to return to their respective buses parked at the gas station, traveling in two tricycles. Upon disembarking, a misunderstanding ensued that escalated into a fistfight between Aldwin Gawat, 47 years old, of Cauayan City, Isabela; Calvin Calixtro, 23 years old, a conductor; and Anselmo Ermitanio, 52 years old, a driver/resident of Santiago, that ultimately led to the stabbing of the victim.

The victim was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries. Meanwhile, charges are being prepared against the suspects involved in the incident.
