Dead baby abandoned in Lingayen

A DEAD baby placed in a plastic bag was left in an alley between the Bureau of Fire Protection and Lingayen District Hospital on the morning of June 26.

A public school employee of Lingayen saw the baby, who was about seven to eight months old.

Auxiliary Bishop Fidelis Layog of the Lingayen-Dagupan Archdiocese performed the last sacrament on to the remains of the baby, who was named Joseph.

Mayor Leopoldo Bataoil ordered the immediate burial of the baby at the cemetery by the local police, Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office, Municipal Information Office.

An investigation was called to find out who the mother who left the dead baby in that area.

The mayor is also asking for prayers for the eternal peace of ‘Joseph’. (Eva Visperas)
