Six men faking notaries’ signatures nabbed

SIX individuals forging and faking documents by notaries were arrested by authorities in Dagupan City.

Personnel from the PNP’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG– Pangasinan launched an entrapment operation leading to the arrest of the suspects.

The CIDG Pangasinan refused to name the identities of the suspects as their other possible cohorts and accomplices are being tracked.

Victim Atty. Perfecto Beltran Jr., 83, practicing lawyer, filed a complaint after discovering that the arrested suspects used his name to commit notary fraud by forging his signature.

Investigation reveals the suspects collected up to P20,000 for their fake documents.

The CIDG also said that suspects also pose as other law practitioners.

Motorist dead in road accident

A 58-year-old rider died after colliding against another motorcycle rider along Barangay Lucao, Dagupan City.

Investigation reveals Anthony Bancod, 21, water delivery boy, and a resident of Barangay Pangapisan North in Lingayen town, along with backrider Michael Irish Daysa, 21, a resident of Barangay Poblacion, Lingayen, were on their way home when another motorcycle rider, Mario Quinto, of Sitio Fisheries in Barangay Lucao made a counterflow that resulted in a collision.

The three sustained injuries and were rushed to the Region I Medical Center, but Quinto was declared dead on arrival.

Police confirmed that all victims were positive for alcohol intake when the incident took place. Both drivers also did not have driver’s license.

Rider dead in Binalonan accident

A 22-year-old rider died after he accidentally sideswiped a tricycle in Barangay San Felipe Sur, Binalonan.

Victim Mark Cris Abao, a resident in the barangay, was riding his motorcycle along the provincial road when he accidentally hit a tricycle being driven by Dalmacio Aquino, 63, with passengers Liticia Aquino, 61, and her nine-year-old grandson, all residents in the barangay.

Police said both vehicles were headed towards Asingan town when Abao sideswiped the tricycle when he attempted to overtake the latter.

Abao was rushed to the hospital, but was declared dead on arrival. Both Abao and Aquino did not have a driver’s license.

Motorcycle crashes to SUV, 1 dead

A motorcycle rider crashed into an SUV, leaving one dead along the National Road in Barangay Baay, Lingayen town.
Joseph Andrew Aquino, of Barangay Domalandan East, Lingayen was riding his motorcycle when it slammed directly  into a Toyota Innova being driven by Rogolus Damasco, 59, LGU employee, and a resident of Barangay Carmen East, Rosales town, when he overtook a tricycle.

Aquino was rushed to the hospital for treatment, but died hours later.

Mechanic nabbed in drug ops

A mechanic was arrested in Dagupan City following a drug-bust operation by authorities.

Christopher Santa Maria Cervantes, aka Tabo, 29, and a resident of Barangay Malued, Dagupan City, was arrested in the adjacent Barangay Pogo Chico.

Authorities confiscated two heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu with P13,600 street value, and recovered the marked money used for the drug-bust.

Cervantes is now behind bars, and was charged in violation of Republic Act 9165.
