 Two arrested over drunk driving, resistance to authorities

TWO drunkards, John Marck Dominic Lee, lending collector, 35, and Niño Villacampa Mahusay, 27, both from Masbate province and presently residing in Barangay Bolingit, San Carlos City were arrested by authorities after harassing and attempting to hurt policemen in San Carlos City.

Investigation shows while policemen P/MSg Severino de Guzman, P/SSg Jamel Dalioan, P/SSg Ronnie Nacor, and Patrolman Noel de Guzman were conducting their Oplan Sita in Barangay Rizal when the two, riding a motorcycle, were flagged down.

When the suspects, under alcohol influence, started cussing and tried slapping police officers Nachor and Dalioan, the two were quickly subdues and arrested. Suspects are now under police custody.

 

Rider hits pedestrian, both injured

A 62-year-old man was injured after being hit by a motorcycle along Barangay Guibel in San Jacinto town.

Investigation reveals victim Danilo Bermudez, a resident of the barangay, was crossing the street when the motorcycle driven by Ernie dela Cruz Ellasus, 50, of Barangay Santa Maria, San Jacinto, hit him.

Both sustained injuries in different parts of their body, and were rushed to the hospital. Police are still investigating the incident.

 

Newly-released convict found dead in backyard

POLICE are still probing on the mysterious death of a former convict who was recently freed, after he was found dead in his backyard in Barangay Telbang, San Carlos City.

Raulito Abalos, 53, called the police, and reported that his brother Arnold aka ‘Nognog’, was found dead, lying on the ground, wearing underwear, and with a bloodied head.

Police now have a person of interest.

 

Woman shot dead in house by unidentified intruders

 A 43-year-old woman, Liezel Quimson Martin, was shot dead inside her house in Barangay Balite Sur in San Carlos City.

Investigation shows the victim was cleaning her house when two armed men barged in, coming from the back door, and shot the victim several times, instantly killing her.

The assailants immediately rushed to escape.

Police recovered seven empty shells, eight deformed slugs, and one live ammunition, and one metal jacket. Police are still investigating the incident.

 

Rider dies from injuries in accident

A 31-year-old motorcycle rider died after being involved in an accident in Calasiao town.

Victim Aristotle Zarate, resident of Barangay Ambonao in Calasiao town, was riding his motorcycle along Barangay San Miguel, when he crashed onto a sedan being driven by Marlon Tolentino Catubig, 53, of Barangay Poblacion West in Calasiao.

Investigation shows Tolentino just came out from a mall when Zarate crashed into his car.  Zarate was thrown off the road that caused him to be run over by another motorcycle rider, James Aquino.

Zarate sustained severe injuries in his body, that resulted in his death.
