College student raped, killed by pervert
DREAMS of a 21-year-old college student were shattered when she became a victim of rape and murder in Barangay Balangobong in Lingayen town, March 11, Friday evening.
Allysa Bolasoc, a third-year student of Pangasinan State University was, found dead caught in the fishing net half-naked without her underwear late Sunday afternoon by a fisherman identified as Rowel Sabino, who quickly called the police .
Bolasoc’s relatives already expressed concern that she was not seen since Saturday afternoon.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Vicente Castor, Lingayen chief of police, said a follow-up operation was launched and resulted in the arrest of Jessie Aquino Soriano, 32, solar panel installer, who later admitted to the crime.
He accompanied the police to the scene of the crime, where additional items of the victim have been recovered after he confessed how he followed, attacked and raped the victim Saturday evening.
The assailant is now behind bars, and is facing charges of rape with murder.
Police and barangay officials confirmed that Soriano was already the subject of numerous complaints for groping young girls in the area.
Soriano did not show any hint of remorse during a media interview.
Lingayen Mayor Leopoldo Bataoil ordered the local PNP to establish a sub-station in Barangay Domalandan in response to the recent crime situations in Barangays Domalandan East, Domalandan West, Malimpuec, Estanza, Balangobong, and Capandanan.
He also urged barangay officials to conduct regular patrols especially in their barangays. (Ahikam Pasion)
