Region’s HVT falls in Pangasinan buy-bust ops

ONE of the Region’s top high value targets was nabbed in a search warrant implementation by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in an operation Monday, February 12.

PDEA operatives arrested suspect Rogelito Tandoc, a resident of Barangay San Miguel in Calasiao town, after the search yielded 14 transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, weighing eight grams, worth P54,400.

Also recovered were a caliber .45 pistol with magazine and ammunition, and a caliber .38 pistol with ammunition. Tandoc is the region’s Top 8 High Value Target (HVT).

Man shot dead in Bolinao

A 52-year-old man was shot dead in Bolinao town.

Victim was identified as Philip Bayon Tombaga, a resident of Barangay Ilog-Malino in Bolinao.

A concerned citizen tipped off the local police of a shooting incident in the area and investigation showed the victim just arrived home from a vigil.  He was tailed by suspect Jordan Buccat Labio, 36, also a resident in the area, and shot Tombaga using an improvised caliber .22 pistol.
Tombaga was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead due to a gunshot wound on his chest. Labio was arrested in a follow-up operation.

Beautician nabbed over illegal drugs

A BEAUTICIAN was arrested by authorities after peddling illegal drugs in Mangaldan town.

Authorities nabbed Rowell Baesa Millare aka ‘Jomar’, 36, a resident of Barangay Bonuan Gueset in Dagupan City.

Authorities, posing as a druggie, bought one sachet of shabu from the suspect. The latter was arrested after the transaction. A total of two sachets containing suspected shabu, weighing 1.10 grams worth P7,480 was confiscated from the suspect who is now behind bars.

Caregiver dead in road mishap

A CAREGIVER died after the tricycle he was driving was hit by a bus in Alaminos City.

Victim Francis Jayson Bautista, a resident of Barangay Pocal-Pocal in Alaminos City, was traveling along the national road of Barangay Tanaytay, Alaminos City, when he was hit by a bus driven by Rolando Marzo, 41, of San Juan, La Union.

Police investigation, backed by the bus action camera showed Bautista suddenly stopped his tricycle on the middle of the road, as he was seemingly trying to fix something. The bus was unable to hit the brakes in time. Bautista was rushed to the hospital, but was declared dead on arrival.

Druggie nabbed in drug ops

A 40-year-old man was nabbed in a buy-bust operation in Calasiao town.

Suspect Mark Licera Acosta, a native of Cavite province, sold suspected shabu to a police operative posing as a buyer. Upon his arrest authorities seized a sachet of suspected shabu worth P4,780 in his possession.

Acosta is now behind bars and was filed charges in violation of Republic Act 9165.

Suspended bouncer stabs workmate

A bouncer, who was suspended from work, was arrested after stabbing a colleague in Dagupan City.

Suspect Lorenzo Marcelino Jr. aka Jeric, 44, resident of Barangay Bolosan, Dagupan City, stabbed victim Alvin Manuel Ereso, 43, of Barangay Bonuan Gueset, same city.

Police investigation showed Ereso was assisting customers in a bar along Perez Boulevard when he was suddenly stabbed by Marcelino using a butterfly knife (balisong). Marcelino was found to be under the influence of alcohol.

Ereso was rushed to the hospital where he is recovering from his stab wound.

As of press time, Marcelino is still being hunted by police. A case of frustrated homicide has been filed against the suspect.

Fisherman hangs self

A 25-year-old fisherman in Dagupan City appeared to have committed suicide inside his home.

The victim, a resident of Barangay Pugaro, was found hanging in his bedroom, using a nylon rope. The victim was found by his father, who was searching for the former as he was drunk before he went missing.

The victim was rushed to the hospital and was revived at around 11PM, but died seven hours later. The victim’s motive is still unknown.
