PDEA raids Calasiao drug den, 9 nabbed
WHAT started as a buy-bust operation by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency against one suspect in Barangay Buenlag in Calasiao town, it ended with eight more individuals arrested.
Operatives initially launched a drug-bust operation against subject Delfin Peralta, a resident of the barangay, but after he was arrested, authorities discovered that Peralta’s house also serves as a drug den, resulting in the arrest of eight more.
Other arrested individuals include Peralta’s partner and co-maintainer Maricel Jimenez, and guests Jake Fernandez, Dominador Uson, Leo Untalan, Jimboy Caron, Levi Jom Ramos, Alwin Philip Ramos, and Lino Casil Jr.
Recovered by PDEA operatives were 12 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, worth P81,600, and an open sachet containing suspected shabu weighing more or less one gram.
Other shabu paraphernalia were also recovered in the area.
Rechie Camacho, PDEA Pangasinan Provincial Officer, said Peralta’s house also served as a one-stop shop. “Dito na rin sila gagamit kapag gusto nilang tumira”, said Camacho.
The suspects are now under PDEA custody and have been filed cases in violation of RA 9165. (Ahikam Pasion)
