Cop, drug dealer nabbed in Asingan drug ops
A SUSPECTED drug supplier and his potential customer who turned out to be a police officer were nabbed in a drug surveillance operation in Barangay Domanpot in Asingan town, on Sunday, February 18.
Police identified the drug peddler as Edmar Padua, aka ‘Puto’, 31, a resident of Asingan town and his customer as P/ Corporal Rodolfo Patricio, 42, a resident of Urdaneta City and stationed at Santa Maria Police.
The police were conducting a validation on Padua, when Patricio, approached Padua evidently to transact the sale of shabu.
Police were about to approach the suspects when Patricio who was alerted by the situation fled in his Tamaraw FX leaving Padua alone.
Patricio was subsequently arrested in a police chase.
The operatives seized a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu worth P3,400 from Padua and Patricio’s handgun and vehicle.
Meanwhile, P/Captain Landro Velasquez, acting chief of police of Sta. Maria was immediately relieved by Colonel Jeff Fanged, Pangasinan PNP Director, for failing in his command responsibility. (Ahikam Pasion)
