MAYOR Niña Jose-Quiambao has cautioned her constituents in Bayambang to be vigilant mid reports circulating in social media on “katok bahay”, a new modus of thieves.

In a statement on her official Facebook page, Quiambao expressed serious concern about reports of suspects allegedly entering houses after knocking on unlocked doors and windows of houses in different barangays in the town.

Based on police investigation, authorities found out that a person suffering from mental disability was behind it.

However, people are still advised to be vigilant and to report these incidents to the barangay or the local Philippine National Police or call #4357 for prompt action.

The police force, together with other peace and order enforcers and barangay officials, assured a 24-hour monitoring to maintain safety in the town and urged to make it a habit to lock their doors or windows and avoid going out at night, unless necessary. (Eva Visperas)
