ONE of the four victims of a firecracker explosion inside a compound on Claveria Road in Barangay Malued on Christmas Day died while already recuperating in their house.

Roan Velasco, 44, of Barangay Caranglaan, Dagupan City died on January 2, a day after he was discharged from the Region 1 Medical Center.

However, his relatives claim Velasco died from complications of kidney disease, not from injuries he suffered from the firecracker explosion.

The other two injured in that incident, Rogelio Zamora Solomon, 48, of Barangay Malued, and Jacqueline Velasco, 49, of Barangay Caranglaan, were also discharged from R1MC, and both are now recuperating in their respective homes.

The first fatality in that incident was Raymundo Seen Lazaro, 38, a tricycle driver, who died December 26 while being treated at R1MC.

Meanwhile, investigation into the firecracker explosion was further intensified by the Dagupan Police and the Bureau of Fire Protection.

Mayor Belen Fernandez earlier directed the Dagupan police to file charges against the owners of the exploded firecrackers. (Leonardo Micua)
