Man dies after resto mauling

 A 30-year-old man died from the mauling by two individuals in a restobar in Barangay Palaris, San Carlos City.

A recovered CCTV footage of the crime scene showed victim Samuel de Vera, a resident of Barangay Bolosan, was standing alone at the entrance of the Raguz Restobar, waiting for the group of suspects led by Carl Esperanza, 25, and Jojo Lomibao, 27, both residents of Barangay Pagal, San Carlos City.

Police investigation revealed De Vera was drinking alone in the bar and was visibly drunk when he challenged the suspects to a fight.  Irked by De Vera’s challenge proceeded to gang up on him.

De Vera fell and his head hit the pavement when he collapsed while being mauled continuously by the suspects.

He was rushed to Region I Medical Center, but was comatose. He eventually died the next day.

The suspects were arrested and the police are still searching for another suspect involved in the incident.

One injured in motorcycle collision

A 23-year-old worker is under observation after sustaining severe injuries in a motorcycle accident along Barangay Poblacion, Santa Barbara.

Victim Mency Carion, a vendor, and a resident of Barangay Maningding in Santa Barbara town was traversing the town road in front of the plaza when another motorcycle driven by a 17-year-old boy crashed onto the victim.

Carion sustained heavy head injuries, while the minor is unscathed. Carion is still undergoing treatment.

Two-year-old child hit by dump truck

A two-year-old child sustained injuries in her body after a dump truck hit her.

Victim Sophia Grace Romano was with her mother Mary Grace, 20, and aunt May Lomibao, 23, all residents of Barangay Poblacion, Laoac town, were standing along the shoulder of the provincial road in the barangay.

A dump truck, driven by Eduardo Pascua, 20, a resident of Barangya Caaringayan, Laoac was approaching when Sophia suddenly crossed the road. Sophia went under the truck, but was fortunately alive. She was rushed to a hospital in Urdaneta for treatment.

Two women hurt as van hits motorcycle

A doctor and her passenger were injured after their motorcycle was hit by a van in Barangay Lebueg, Laoac.

Victims Erika Perez Alvarez, 38, OB-Gyne, and passenger Kirby Macaraeg, 22, all residents of Batangas City, were traversing the TPLEX northbound road on board a motorcycle.

However, a van driven by Zucarino Kuyag, 59, of Quezon City tried to overtake the motorcycle when it hit the motorcycle’s footrest resulting in the motorcycle to swerve and crashed into a metal beam crash barrier.

The women were rushed to a nearby hospital, while Kuyag is under police custody as the investigation continues.

Delivery rider loses P10k worth of parcel

 A delivery rider was in tears when a sack that contained a parcel worth P10,000 fell from his motorcycle while traversing Barangay Lipit Tomeeng in San Fabian in San Fabian town.

Punong Barangay Roberta Pimentera of Barangay Lipit Tomeeng said rider Jonathan Estrada went to their Barangay Hall in hopes of recovering a sack containing parcel.

Barangay officials, along with other concerned citizens who went on a search for the missing sack, whose contents were meant to be delivered to residents of the area.

Prior to missing the parcel, Estrada said he delivered in Barangay Inmalog Sur, Inmalog Norte, Bisukol, Alacan, and Mabilao. Due to the difficult terrain in the area, the missing parcels were suspected to have fallen unnoticed in those areas.

CCTV footages in the five barangays areas were reviewed to see if the parcels may have been fallen off in any of the branagay roads.

Rider hurt as truck wheel throws off

A 29-year-old freelance architect was rushed to a hospital after being hurt in a freak accident in Asingan.

The incident occurred in Magilas Trail, along the provincial road of Barangay Toboy, where the victim, Astley Aligam, resident of San Vicente in Santa Maria town, was riding his motorcycle.

He was driving next to a 16-wheeler truck being driven by Edgardo Correa Cruz, 45, a resident of Calamba Laguna, who was en route to Binalonan.

However, a right rear wheel of the truck came off and hit Aligam, causing injuries in different parts of his body.
