Case vs. driver in Manipud’s death up for decision
JUDGE Carina Aquino of Branch 1 of the Municipal Trial Court in Cities in Dagupan City is set to promulgate her decision on the Criminal Case for Reckless Imprudence Resulting in Homicide against the lone accused on January 10, 2024 at 10 a.m.
The case involved an automobile accident that happened on August 1, 2017 at the corner of Burgos Street and Rivera Street in Dagupan City where the victim, Atty. Godofredo Manipud, was riding his motorcycle headed for work when he was hit by a Toyoto Fortuner driven by Frizgerald Ruedas y Viray.
Atty Manipud was rushed to the hospital where he died from his injuries after one week.
Although the accident happened on August 1, 2017, it was only on June 18, 2019 when the first trial of the case started.
After its final offer for documentary evidence, the defense finally rested its case.
To the relief of the his family, the decision will finally come six years after Atty. Manipud passed away.
