Woman stabbed dead by live-in partner

A 21-year-old woman was stabbed to death by her live-in partner in Mabini town.

Victim Hazel Capitle, and partner Lyndon Rapay-Rapay, both residents of Barangay De Guzman, were reportedly having a heated argument and the victim threatened to end their relationship.

Capitle attempted to leave the house, but Rapay-Rapay prevented her, held her by the neck, and stabbed Capitle several times.

She was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Rapay-Rapay, is now behind bars, and was charged for the crime of murder.

Woman struck by lightning, dies

A 33-year-old woman died after being struck by lightning during a thunderstorm in Barangay Tococ-Barikir in Mangatarem town Sunday afternoon, June 04.

P/Major Arturo Melchor Jr. identified the victim as Myrna Soriano, a resident of the barangay.

Soriano was discovered lifeless by her brother, who rushed her to a nearby clinic. She, however, was declared dead.

Investigation showed she was struck by lightning when she took shelter under a mango tree during a thunderstorm in the area. She suffered a wound on her nape.

Gener Quitlong, Weather Specialist for the PAGASA Agno River Basin Flood Forecasting and Warning Center, urged the public to immediately stay indoors when thunderstorms occur.

He also discouraged individuals from going out, specially in areas with no buildings or high structures.

Dagupan PNP arrests two robbers

TWO men were arrested in a follow-up operation by the police, after robbing two persons at the Bonuan Tondaligan Beach.

Investigation showed victims Brendelle Fabro, 20, resident of Alipangpang-Villa in Pozorrubio town, and companion Raven Claire Notorio, 20, of Casibong, San Jacinto, were at the beach, when suspects Rolly MAnaois, 32, and Junie Llamas took their cash and two smartphones at gunpoint.

The victims immediately rushed to the nearby police precinct and a follow-up investigation was promptly conducted.

Manaois, a resident of Sitio Longos in Barangay Bonuan Boquig, was eventually tracked, thanks to the victims’ cellphones linked to their Google Account, that indicated the phones’ locations. Llamas was later arrested in Barangay Bonuan Gueset.

The gun they used, however, was not recovered.

The suspects are currently under police custody, as further investigation of other robbery cases in the city are being probed that could establish a connection with the suspects.
