Student behind killing of PSU instructor charged for murder
THE 22-year-old student, the main suspect behind the killing of the Pangasinan State University instructor, whose decomposing body was discovered under a bridge in Barangay Linoc, Binmaley town on Thursday, January 26, is already in the custody of the Binmaley Police.
P/Lt. Colonel Lodovico Eleazar, Binmaley police chief, said Jericho Tirao, a resident of Barangay Carael in Dagupan City, and a college student at Pangasinan State University (PSU) has been charged for murder after he was subjected to inquest proceedings at the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office in Lingayen town.
Tirao allegedly killed victim Mark Camero Lagleva, 39, a resident of Barangay Concordia, Bolinao town, whose body was found by three students floating on a river under a bridge.
Eleazar said the victim may have been underwater for three days.
He was positively identified by kin through items collected from his remains.
Tirao has been a student of Lagleva, a faculty member of the College of Computing Science at PSU-Lingayen Campus and motive behind the incident is still being established.
Lagleva’s remains are currently buried at the Binmaley Public Cemetery. (Ahikam Pasion)
