Cadaver in Binmaley identified, suspect arrested
THE unidentified cadaver discovered in the morning of January under the Linoc Bridge in Binmaley was identified as Mark Lagleva y Camero, 39, an online teacher from Barangay Concordia, Bolinao, Pangasinan.
The identification of Lagleva enabled the Binmaley Police and other cooperating intelligence units to identify and arrest his alleged killer, Jericho Tirao, a college student, and a resident of Barangay Carael West in Dagupan City.
A case for murder was filed by the police against Tirao before the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor in Lingayen with no bail bond recommended for his provisional liberty.
The body of Lagleva was found floating early morning of January 6 along the Linoc River by four students on their way to the Linoc Elementary School. They reported the discovery to the owner of the house adjacent the bridge who in turn immediately relayed the information to Barangay Captain Nita Baniqued.
The Binmaley Police, accompanied by Baniqued, rushed to the site and found the body in a state of decomposition, his feet, body and head bound by a rope, stones strapped to his body to keep it from floating on the river.
A forensic unit from the police found multiple stab wounds on Lagleva’s body. (Leonardo Micua/ 104.7 IFM Dagupan Badz Agtalao)
