Three die in motorcycle mishap
THREE persons died after two motorcycles collided with each other in Mangaldan town during the New Year’s revelry.
Victims were identified as Jayson Viado, 24, and Lorna Urap, both riding in tandem, and Jay Mayugba, resident of San Fabian town.
Police investigation shows Viado and Urap were traversing the National Road in Barangay Malabago, when Mayugba crossed from the opposite lane, causing the two motorcycles to collide.
The two and Mayugba, sustained severe injuries that resulted in their deaths.

Back-rider dies over a stray cat
A back-riding 53-year-old woman died in a road accident caused by the crossing of a stray cat in Barangay Amalbalan, Dasol town.
Police investigation shows Diosdado Serna, 54, and his wife Estrella, 53, both residents of Barangay Hermosa of said town, were onboard a motorcycle and were traversing the barangay road when a stray cat suddenly crossed the street.
Surprised by the sudden crossing of the cat, Diosdado tried to avoid hitting it but lost control instead, causing the motorcycle to crash. His wife, who was not wearing a helmet hit her head on the cemented road.
The two were rushed to the hospital, but Estrella was declared dead on arrival. Diosdado is still recuperating from his injuries.

Motorcycle skids, two riders killed
TWO persons riding a motorcycle, traveling on TPLEX died after their unit skidded on a wet portion and crashed.
Victims Aljon Mercado, 29, resident of Mandaluyong City, along with back-rider Eliza Mae Gayon, 25, resident of General Trias in Cavite, were traversing the TPLEX Highway along Barangay Anis in Laoac town when their motorcycle skidded on passing a wet area of a curve and Mercado lost control.
With wet road caused by the incessant rains, the motorcycle crashed into a metal barrier, causing the two to be thrown away and sustained heavy injuries.
They were rushed to the hospital, but were declared dead.

Rider dies in motorcycle collision
A 30-year-old man died after his motorcycle crashed against another motorcycle in San Carlos City.
Victim Howard Vinluan, resident of Barangay Poblacion East in Santo Tomas town, was driving the motorcycle along Barangay Coliling, when his lane was taken by opposing rider identified as Ricky Garcia, 19, along with backrider Nelmar Gutierrez, both residents of Barangay Lilimasan in San Carlos City, causing both vehicles to collide head-on.
The trio sustained heavy injuries and were rushed to the hospital, but Vinluan was declared dead on arrival.
