PDEA declares 2 San Carlos City barangays ‘drug-cleared’
TWO more barangays in San Carlos City—Caingal and Naguilayan—were declared ‘drug-cleared’ by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
This raised the number of drug-cleared barangays in San Carlos City to 65, while processing of 25 barangays to attain drug-cleared status continues.
Barangays Caingal and Naguilayan received their drug-cleared status following a verification process made by a Regional Verification Committee that there are no more drug personalities, no drug dens and no persons using illegal drugs.
Mayor Julier Resuello thanked the residents of both Caingal and Naguilayan for their cooperation and determination to make their respective barangays drug-cleared.
He also expressed his gratitude to the Department of the Interior and Local Government, Philippine National Police, City Health Office and the Department of Social Welfare and Development for their unstinting support in the campaign against illegal drugs, not only in Barangays Caingal and Naguilayan but the whole of San Carlos City.
PDEA Provincial Director Rechie Camacho said each time a place is declared drug cleared, more communities are safer but he advised barangay and town officials not to relax their guard and continue to be vigilant against continued threat of illegal drugs trading. (104.7 IFM Dagupan/Jhon Caranto)
