Motorcycle rider without helmet yields drugs
A YOUNG man riding his motorcycle without a helmet in San Carlos City was arrested by authorities not because of it but for possession of illegal drugs.
Police manning the checkpoint along Barangay Baldog hailed down Alex Magat, resident of Barangay Parayao in the city because he was not wearing a helmet, but instead of stopping, he sped away prompting the police to chase him.
When Magat was eventually collared, the police frisked him and found a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing shabu.
He was taken into police custody, and was filed charges in violation of the Article 151 of the Revised Penal Code and Republic Act 9165. (Ahikam Pasion)
