The suspect, who was later charged by the police with the case of robbery extortion, was identified as Segundino Apostol Jr., 62, a native of Barangay Poblacion East in San Nicolas town.
Apostol, who pretended to be connected with the newspaper Remata, was caught in an entrapment operation set by the Calasiao police, along with elements of the Provincial Intelligence Unit and the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company.
This, after he threatened Raymund Angustia, 39, operator of the Fun Fair/Sideshow, that his establishment will be forcibly closed if he would not accede to his demand of P2,000 protection money.
