PDEA arrests 2 HVTs with P1.3-M worth of shabu
OPERATIVES from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency arrested two high-value targets in a drug buy-bust operation along the bypass road in Barangay Nancayasan, Urdaneta City, 2 a.m., Tuesday, December 13.
The operation yielded 200 grams of shabu, worth P1.3 million.
Rechie Camacho, PDEA – Pangasinan provincial officer, identified the suspects as Mark Tizon and John Sañez, both residents of Barangay Santo Tomas Bukid in Pasig City, Metro Manila.
Camacho said the operatives were communicating with an inmate from the National Bilibid Prison who sent the suspects to Pangasinan to consummate the transaction on his behalf.
“May kausap ang mga operatiba natin na nagbebenta, pero nasa loob po ito ng Bilibid nakakulong. Inutusan ang dalawang ito upang magbenta, hindi nila alam mga tropa na natin ang kaharap nila”, said Camacho.
The PDEA-Pangasinan had no information initially on the identities of the suspects and only realized they were high value targets during the operation. However, Camacho clarified that the suspects were not connected to the more than P2.3 billion drug operations discovered in Pozorrubio.
The operatives recovered the marked money used by the operatives for the transaction, a mobile phone and a motorcycle with temporary plate.
The suspects are now under PDEA custody, while charges in violation of Republic Act 9165 have been filed against the two. (Ahikam Pasion)
