‘Marites’ leads to stabbing of 3
THREE men were stabbed one after the other in Barangay Malued in Dagupan City recently reportedly caused by an ugly rumor in ‘Marites’ (in FB lingo) fashion.
Hospitalized due to stab wounds in different parts of their bodies were Allan Quitalig, Jhon Quitalig, and Harim Lagao, all residents of Barangay Malued.
P/ Lieutenant Colonel Vicente Castor Jr., chief of the Dagupan City Police Station, in an interview, said the suspect, Oliver Manaois, 27, who was under the influence of liquor, confronted the trio and reportedly asked about a rumor being spread about him.
Initial investigations showed Manaois left the three after a brief argument then returned wielding a kitchen knife and lunged at the three.
He first attacked Allan Quitalig and thereafter stabbed the two other victims who came to his rescue. All sustained stab wounds in different parts of their bodies. The victims were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
A follow-up operation was immediately conducted by the police for the arrest of Manaois.
Manaois, was already charged for attempted homicide.
Meanwhile, the three victims denied allegations of relatives of Manaois that he was manhandled by the three, prompting the suspect to rush to get a knife to avenge the attack on him. (Jhon Caranto/14.7IFM Dagupan)
