Woman shot dead by hitmen riding in tandem
A 38-year-old woman was shot dead by still unidentified suspects in Barangay Bued, Calasiao town on Wednesday night, October 5.
Victim was identified as Ernalyn Sotelo, a resident of PNR Site in the town’s Barangay San Miguel.
Investigation reveals the victim was onboard a motorcycle with her husband Melchor riding through a dark diversion road, when two unidentified men on board a motorcycle followed and shot Sotelo several times.
Sotelo sustained eight shots in different parts of her body, one in her head, causing her death.
Four spent shells from a caliber 45 pistol were recovered by authorities.
Police are probing a possibility of mistaken identity, as Melchor reported the police that he heard the suspects “Aliwa amo”, a Pangasinan term which suggests that they may have shot the wrong person.
Despite one of the suspects saying it, Melchor said that they still shot his wife dead.
Investigation is still ongoing. (Ahikam Pasion)
