Sleeping woman killed by drunk driver
A 33-year-old woman in Sitio Parongking, Barangay San Miguel in Calasiao town died after a pickup driven by a drunk driver plowed through her house.
The victim, Melody dela Cruz , was asleep in her house on May 29 at 3 a.m. when a speeding Ford Ranger Raptor, driven by Gino Largo, crashed into to the family residence of Dela Cruz.
Investigation showed, Largo, under the influence of liquor, initially hit a parked closed van, then swerved towards the house.
Melody, who was crushed under the pickup, was seriously injured, went into coma, but eventually died at the hospital. Her husband and 3 children were unhurt.
Largo promised to pay for funeral expenses. At presstime, the family is undecided whether to file a case against Largo. (Ahikam Pasion)
