Six barangay officials suspended for 6 months

THE Sangguniang Bayan (SB) of Mangaldan implemented the suspension order against six barangay officials from Poblacion for six months for grave misconduct and abuse of authority, effective June 9.

The suspension order was issued last January 10, 2022, and was only imposed after the elections period officially ended as stipulated in the Commissions on Elections (Comelec) resolution no. 10742, section 15 which stated that “… no public official, except upon prior written approval of the Commission, suspend any elective provincial, city, municipal, or barangay officer.”

According to the SB of Mangaldan decision, suspended were Kgd. Vincent V. Sarzaba, Kgd. Menandro O. Loresco, Kgd. Jos ala Cresanto P. Ferrer, Kgd. Raul Rufino G. Serafica, Kgd. Federico M. Aquino Jr., and SK Chairman Joshua Soriano.

The Mangaldan’s Office of the Mayor has already sent a letter on June 8 to the Poblacion’s Barangay Chairman Melinda Morillo in regards to the ordered suspension of the involved barangay officials. (Vjnhyl Pondivida)
