Sibling jealousy leads son to commit suicide
JEALOUSY and feeling of being unloved led a brother of a dead sibling to commit suicide. He was found hanging by the ceiling on March 23 inside their house in Barangay Pogonsili, Aguilar town.
Jun Jerry Fernandez, 21, was under the influence of liquor the night before the incident when he asked his mother to take him to his room because he was drunk.
When his mother refused, the victim apparently felt slighted and told her off in Filipino, “You don’t love me and you love my elder brother more even if he had been dead three years ago “.
The mother said her son felt guilty because he stabbed dead his brother three years ago.
As some of the barangay officials who helped him get home recounted, Fernandez reportedly said he would commit suicide as no one loved him.
The following morning, he was seen hanging in their living room.
He was rushed to the Rural Health unit here but was declared dead on arrival by his attending doctor. (Eva Visperas)
