New PRO 1 director inspects seized, surrendered firearms
THE Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPPO) presented the seized and surrendered 223 firearms to newly designated Ilocos Regional Police Office (PRO 1) director, P/Brig. Gen. Westrimundo Obinque during his first command visit on Monday, March 14.
PPPO director P/Col. Richmond Tadina said the following seized and surrendered firearms were the results of law enforcement operations in the province:
– 99 were surrendered by politicians vying for various elective posts
– 73 were from Oplan Katok
– 43 were surrendered by private gun owners
– 60 were confiscated from different police operations.
Of the numbers, 36 are under the custody of the Provincial Forensic Unit while the other 16 firearms are under the care of courts. (Jerick Pasiliao)
