MORE than half a million pesos worth of marijuana products were seized by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) – Pangasinan after a suspected twenty-year-old drug pusher was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Anolid, Mangaldan town last Tuesday evening, February 22.

The suspect, Jhasper Base Dalan, a native of Bulacan, was entrapped in the drug-bust operation in his rented bungalow initially in possession of 50 grams of high-grade marijuana called ‘Kush’, worth P50,000.

Then operatives saw more marijuana products inside his residence.

Among those recovered were the boodle money used in the transaction, marijuana fruiting tops weighing more or less 2.5 kilos worth P300,000, 500ml of marijuana oil valued at P110,000, 18 pieces of black plastic pots with marijuana seeds, two marijuana seedlings, and assorted paraphernalia.

Rechie Camacho, Provincial Officer of PDEA-Pangasinan, said Dalan’s modus is selling and shipping marijuana to clients through courier delivery system, with mushroom fruit bags as cover.

This was proven when operatives opened four mushroom bags, and revealed the packed marijuana inside.

Camacho urged local courier delivery companies that did business with Dalen to help track and search for illegal substances among parcels.

Camacho said his operatives can seize more hidden drugs with sniff dogs and expressed hopes that his request for the dogs will be granted soon. (Ahikam Pasion)
