Househelp who stole from DOTr Asec nabbed in Mangaldan
A HOUSEHELP who reportedly stole pieces of jewelry of her boss, Transportation Assistant Secretary Goddes Hope Libiran, was arrested in Mangaldan.
In a Facebook post on Thursday night, Libiran said “Nahuli na po si Malou (a.k.a Marilou Morales, Marilou Fernandez, Marilyn Delos Reyes, Malou Mislang) sa Mangaldan, Pangasinan, but for a robbery case that was filed against her last year in Laguna. May isa pa syang pending case for robbery sa Cavite naman. (Malou has been nabbed in Mangaldan ….She has another pending case for robbery in Cavite).”
Libiran said when media asked Malou if it is true that she stole her money and jewelries, she did not deny.
Malou said, “Opo. Pero sabi ng pinagbentahan ko, fancy daw. Kaya Pinamigay ko na lang lahat. Kahit mga nakuha ko sa Cavite, Laguna, fancy… Pinamigay ko na rin lahat (Yes. But my buyer said they were fake. So I gave them all. Even those I got from Cavite, Laguna, fancy…I have also given them all).”
Libiran posted earlier on Jan. 9 her experience of being robbed by her househelp.
Her post garnered 12,000 reactions.
She was thankful that despite what happened, she and her daughter were safe, adding that “it could have been worse”.
She said she posted her experience to serve as a warning to other people. She urged the people that even if their helper comes from an agency, they should still have her/him go through intensive background check.
Libiran said her stolen pieces of jewelry came from her grandmother, mother and husband “so the sentimental value is priceless”.
Southmaids Agency where Malou came from, also put up a P50,000 reward for verified information on her whereabouts . (Eva Visperas)
