Farmer shot dead in front of barangay hall
A FARMER was shot dead in front of the barangay hall of Brgy Piaz in Villasis town on Dec. 11.
Wilson Remoblas, 33, was reportedly gunned down by suspect Melvin Ubaldo, 34, both residents of the barangay.
Police investigation showed that Barangay Kagawad Elevazo Jr, Remoblas and another companion arrived at the barangay hall while Barangay Captain Romeo Wabe and three other men were having a drinking session.
Moments later, another kagawad arrived with the suspect saying that they need assistance to respond to an alleged trouble incident.
While they were preparing to board their respective motorcycles, a heated argument ensued between Elevazo’s group and the suspect that resulted in shooting between them.
Romblas was hit in his chest and abdomen and was brought to Dr. Marcelo Chan Hospital.
The armed suspect immediately fled.
Elevazo, armed with handgun, followed the suspect and fired shots at the house of the suspect and an approaching motorcycle .
Recovered from the crime scene were 17 cartridges, four deformed bullets and one live ammunition from cal. 45 pistol. (Eva Visperas)
