THREE family members were injured when the head of the family stabbed them at dawn of Oct. 26 inside their residence in Chico St., Barangay San Vicente, Urdaneta City.

Injured were mother-in-law, Josephina Lapeña, wife Jodina Lapeña, and daughter Omyra, 13.

Suspect Ismael Marurombsar, 58, was reportedly being restrained by his wife from creating trouble at around 1:30 a.m.

Instead of heeding her plea, the suspect took a kitchen knife and stabbed her.

Josephina and Omyra tried to pacify the suspect but he stabbed them, too.

Jodina and Josephina sustained stabbed wounds on their abdomen while Omyra suffered  cuts on her left elbow and right fingers.

They were brought to Urdaneta District Hospital for medical treatment.

The suspect was arrested. He has injury on his head and was also brought to Urdaneta District Hospital for treatment and is now under police custody. (Eva Visperas)
