THE injured son of the teacher whom the former reported was stabbed to death by an unidentified suspect eventually admitted that it was he who killed his mother inside their residence in Barangay Tarece, San Carlos City last Tuesday, September 21.

P/Lt. Col. Luis Ventura Jr, officer-in-charge police chief, said in a phone interview that the San Carlos City police filed parricide charge on Wednesday against Aravani Nisperos, 20, son of murdered victim, Maria Cristina Nisperos, 40, a teacher at Agdao Integrated School, following his admission of the crime at the Prosecutor’s Office.

Ventura said investigation showed neighbors heard both mother and son were under home quarantine after they tested positive for COVID-19, had verbal altercation between 1:30 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. on Sept. 21.

Cristina’s other son who is negative of the virus, slept in his grandparents’ home about 50 meters away.

It was already at 9:00 a.m. that day when Aravani called one of his cousins alleging that an unidentified suspect entered their house and stabbed them.

Cristina, who was hit with a hard object on her head and sustained stab wounds, died at the scene while Aravani was brought to the Pangasinan Provincial Hospital (PPH) for his wounds that turned out to be superficial.

While at the hospital, Aravani reportedly apologized to two of his uncles for what he had done to his mother, Ventura said. The police used his uncles’ sworn affidavits in the filing of the charge, Ventura said.

Aravani remains at the PPH for being COVID positive while his mom had been cremated.
