TO keep infection inside the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) facility in Dagupan City, one of the adopted measures is to isolate newly-arrived Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) following the quarantine protocol.

Jail Superintendent Roque Constantino Sison III, BJMP-Dagupan Warden, admitted that since physical distancing is impossible to be observed inside the BJMP premises, as 700 individuals are jam packed inside the complex, he has taken extra precautions to check any possible infection inside the facility.

He said the wearing of face masks and shields, washing of hands with soap and alcohol each time they leave the dormitory are strictly enforced.

Sison added that all BJMP personnel, along with 300 PDLs included in the A3 priority group have completed their vaccination.

The BJMP-Dagupan is the first in the region where its personnel have finished inoculation.

While the BJMP is currently under lockdown, Sison is hoping that in the near future, face-to-face visits will be allowed for the benefit the PDLs. (Ahikam Pasion)
