A 32-year-old ex-convict was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) along De Venecia Highway, Barangay Lucao, Dagupan City on a rainy Wednesday afternoon, July 28.

Retchie Camacho, PDEA Assistant Provincial Officer, said the suspect, Jerwin Borleo Liabres, a former resident of Bliss Bonuan Binloc, Dagupan City and currently residing in Urdaneta City, sold 10 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing shabu to a PDEA operative who posed as a junkie.

Seized from Liabres were sachets that weighed 50 grams, with a Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) street value of P 340,000, 199 pieces of boodle money, and the P1,000 bill, used by the operative for the entrapment.

Camacho said Liabres was already nabbed by PDEA operatives on 2014, also because of drug peddling and had just been released from New Bilibid Prison last year.

Further, Liabres’ brothers were also arrested by authorities in the past also for drug peddling.

Liabres has been charged for violating of Republic Act 9165.
