NBI raids ‘spatira’, rescues 5 therapists
THE National Bureau of Investigation Dagupan District Office (NBI-DADO) rescued five therapists after raiding a spa establishment in Dagupan City Monday night.
Atty. Rizaldy Jaymalin, NBI-DADO chief, said the operation against the Citirock Massage on Arellano Street in Barangay Pantal, was launched after weeks of surveillance based on reports received that the establishment was engaged in pimping and prostitution.
He said this was further confirmed after an undercover who entered the establishment was offered “extra service” for P1k.
Five therapists were rescued, along with suspects identified as Genalyn Almario and Joseph Carrera, who allegedly posed as pimp and cashiers at the Citirock Massage.
The NBI filed charges against the two men and Rockford Ambrosio, the owner of Citirock Massage, for violating Anti-trafficking in persons.
Ambrosio, who remains at large, was also charged for operating an establishment that serves as a prostitution hub.
“Sa Facebook account ay ino-offer niya ang extra service sa mga clients ng Citirock”, said Jaymalin.
Meanwhile, the therapists who were rescued were turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) after documentation, where they will undergo counseling. (Ahikam Pasion)
