Cayetano: Outrage isn’t enough, PH needs a clear vision moving forward
SENATE Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano warned that the country is facing a growing governance crisis rooted not only in corruption but also in the glaring absence of a national vision and a clear roadmap for the future.
“Ang question para sa akin ay bakit in this period of time, all of us na nasa gobyerno, we cannot provide people with a roadmap or a vision man lang on how are we going to get out of it (political crisis and corruption issues)?” Cayetano said during a one-on-one interview with King of Talk Boy Abunda, posted November 17, 2025 on the senator’s official Facebook page.
Amid widespread protests and new revelations implicating the President, the senator noted that the government’s response has been scattered and politicized, leaving citizens confused about what comes next.
“Sa isyu ng kalituhan, sabi sa Bible, ‘the blind leading the blind.’ Meaning, walang vision. I’m not criticizing any group or leader. I’m criticizing our whole leadership right now… Ang pamilya na walang vision, hindi mo alam kung saan pupunta,” he said.
Cayetano warned that this leadership vacuum has weakened governance, with agencies such as the Department of Public Works and Highways struggling to balance pursuing corruption cases while keeping essential development programs on track.
He called for a national effort to craft a clear, credible, and actionable roadmap grounded in institutional reforms, transparency, and genuine dialogue.
“I’m saying, let’s take a step back. Tingnan natin kung ano ang nangyayari sa Pilipinas — do you see hope? There is hope, but you do not see it now. Do you see the light at the end of the tunnel? Hindi. You see the tunnel, the darkness. The light that symbolizes na may vision, may pupuntahan — hindi ito pino-provide right now,” he said.
Cayetano reiterated that without a shared vision, the nation risks remaining stuck in a cycle of outrage without progress. He urged leaders to stop fighting for credit and start listening to the people and begin fighting for solutions. PR. ###
