Levelled-up Dagupan police office starts operation
THE people of Dagupan are looking forward to much improved peace and order in their city following the start of operations of the upgraded Type C Dagupan City Police Office on October 20.
Colonel Orly Pagaduan was installed as the first OIC Police Director of the Dagupan Police City Office in a ceremony presided over by Police Regional Director Dindo Reyes.

Pregnant mother, child hurt in Dagupan blaze
A one-year-old child and his pregnant mother were hurt during a fire that broke out in Barangay Mayombo, Dagupan City, on October 23.
Liza Victoria Eristengcol said the fire broke out when she was inside the comfort room while her daughter and grandchild were resting. The victims were rushed to a nearby hospital. The timely arrival of firefighters from the Bureau of Fire Protection of Dagupan prevented the blaze from spreading to adjacent houses. (Mathew Pacheco)

Cargo trucks banned in front of Dagupan Plaza
BIG cargo trucks of fish dealers bringing Dagupan bangus to Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon are now prohibited from parking in front of the Dagupan City Plaza to load their cargo, soon after the Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) again launched a clearing operation of the area.
POSO chief Arvin Decano said the parking area is now under 24/7 watch by his office to ensure that no cargo trucks will use the space in front of the plaza, which makes the place smelly. (Aaron Navelgas)

Villasis senior citizens get financial aid
SENIOR citizens of Villasis who are 80 years old and above received financial incentives under Republic Act No. 11982 or the Expanded Centenarian Act, which was signed into law by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. only in March this year.
The beneficiaries were all octogenarians and nonagenarians, who received financial incentives of P10,000 each. A few who were centenarians received P100,000 each. (Denise Brillante)

Bautista Bagsakan Market opens
THE first Bagsakan Market of Bautista town, where vegetables and other products of local farmers and traders are sold, was mobbed by buyers when it opened on October 20.

Dagupeños visit tombs of kin early
SOME residents of Dagupan trooped to the Dagupan City Roman Catholic Cemetery one week before All Saints’ Day to clean the tombs of their dead loved ones and pay their respects, anticipating bad weather ahead.
They said going early means avoiding the hassle when throngs of people flock to the cemeteries on November 1 and 2. (Nil Moyano)

P20/kg rice benefits 1,250 in Malasiqui
THE ₱20/kilo rice program was rolled out in Malasiqui last week, benefiting 1,250 senior citizens, solo parents, persons with disabilities, and 4P beneficiaries.
They were allowed to buy a maximum of 10 kilos each. The Municipal Agriculture Office and Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office said that despite the guidelines, a long queue of beneficiaries could not be avoided. (Aaron Navelgas)

Motorcyclist arrested with hand gun
A man on a motorbike was arrested by the police when he pulled a handgun and pointed it at another motorcyclist who narrowly sideswiped him as he was negotiating a bridge in Barangay Aniston Weste, Asingan.
As they were in the middle of the bridge, they agreed to meet at the foot of the bridge to talk, but the second motorcyclist then approached with a gun in hand, threatening to shoot. No shooting occurred. (Mathew Pacheco)
