AN ordinance was passed by the Dagupan Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) on August 26, 2025 allowing owners of forfeited properties to settle unpaid taxes and retake their assets if these have not yet been transferred to the city government.

The ordinance, authored by Councilors Michael Fernandez and Jeslito Seen, is intended to give a chance to owners who received a notice of levy from the City Treasurer’s Office.

Seen said most of them, with the total in hundreds, were not able to pay their dues during the three-year COVID pandemic from 2020 to 2003, which had accumulated and imposed surcharges.

Councilor Jose Netu Tamayo, a lawyer and chair of the committee on laws, ordinances and judiciary, said the notice of levy will be lifted upon full payment of the taxes due. (Leonardo Micua)
